Rumman Chowdhury
AI Ethics Leader & Algorithmic Accountability Expert
Rumman Chowdhury is an AI ethics leader and data scientist recognised globally for her work on algorithmic accountability and responsible artificial intelligence. She is the CEO and Co-Founder of Humane Intelligence, a non-profit dedicated to independent evaluation and oversight of AI systems, and serves as the United States Science Envoy for Artificial Intelligence.
Previously, Rumman led the Machine Learning Ethics, Transparency and Accountability (META) team at Twitter, where she worked directly on identifying and mitigating algorithmic harms at platform scale. She has also held senior roles in industry, including leading Responsible AI at Accenture, helping organisations embed fairness, transparency and governance into real-world AI deployment.
Her talks are direct, evidence-led and grounded in practice. They focus on what leaders must understand when algorithms influence decisions about people and why accountability, not intent, ultimately determines trust.
