Sir Andrew Steer is one of the world’s most respected leaders on sustainability, climate and the economics of global change.

From 2021 to 2025, Andrew served as the inaugural President and CEO of the $10 billion Bezos Earth Fund, the world’s largest philanthropy dedicated to climate and nature. He led its global strategy and investment across decarbonisation, energy, food and agriculture, nature, finance and the application of AI and big data.

Previously, Andrew spent almost a decade as President and CEO of the World Resources Institute, leading its work at the intersection of economic growth, business and environmental change. His career has also included serving as the World Bank’s Special Envoy for Climate Change, Director General at the UK Department for International Development and senior World Bank leadership roles across Asia.

Knighted for his contribution to global sustainable development and climate change, Andrew has operated at the highest levels of business, government, international finance and philanthropy.
